Important information! We do accept insurance, such as Medicare, for home sleep apnea testing, we DO NOT accept insurance for CPAP therapy and supplies. What does that mean? We can provide you the home sleep apnea test if you want to use your insurance or if you want to pay cash, either way. If you use your insurance and test positive, we will refer you to various DME providers who are in network with your insurance company.

We use the Philips Respironics Night One testing device. It is the only device on the market which incorporates the use of RIP belt technology.

RIP belt technology is recommended by the American Academy of Sleep Medicine. Instructions for using the Night One. You do not need to press any buttons to turn it on. When you connect the belt to the device it will automatically turn on. It is recommended to put the HST on right after you brush your teeth, just before getting into bed. It doesn't matter if you are going to read some or watch TV in bed, you might fall asleep, so its best to have it on. Step 1: Remove the testing unit from the carrying case.

If the pulse oximeter is attached, leave it attached. Just let it dangle free, hang down for a moment. Step 2: Remove the blue rip belt from the carrying case. Plug the blue belt into one side of the home sleep testing unit. You should hear it click into place.

Make sure the button and logo on the unit is facing outwards. Wrap the belt around you just like any other belt. Snap the other end into the open slot on the home sleep testing unit.

If it is stretching a little bit then you have a correct fit. If it is hard to snap it in place you may need to loosen the belt a little. If the belt is loose and does not stretch at all, it should be tightened some. The belt needs to be snug, Step 3: Remove the PTAF from its plastic bag and attach it to the unit. The open end of the PTAF screws onto the metal looking hole coming out of the top of the testing unit. Place the prongs of the PTAF in your nose and loop the tubing around your ears. Slide the tubing coupling up like a neck tie around your neck.

Secure the PTAF to your face with a piece of tape on each side of your nose. Cotton tape is provided and should be inside the carrying case. Step 4: Place the gray rubber pulse oximeter on a finger with the best fit.

Secure it in place with a Band-Aid which is provided, should be in the case. If the pulse oximeter is unplugged from the unit, plug it back in. Step 5: Look at the top of the HST unit. You should see displays of a finger, a body figure and a head. They should all be lit up, green. If one of these is yellow it indicates the associated part is not attached properly.

You will notice when you put the HST on it is not very cumbersome, you can still move around. If you get up in the middle of the night to use the restroom, just leave the unit on and go to the bathroom while you are wearing it. Take the unit off when you get up in the morning, ready to start your day.

You do not need to turn it off, simply remove it and place it back in the carrying case. Click on the pictures below to read a little more about each part of the home sleep testing unit.
