As the owner of the older Power PC based mac, I was forced to go out and buy a USB adapter to plug in my heaset's microphone. It worked fine in the beginning but all of a sudden (probably after downloading some OS updates from Apple) the speaker has just stopped letting any sound through even though the mic works perfectly. I have checked the headset on other computers to see that its not a problem with the hardware. I also verified in the Audio MIDI Setup Utility to check if the right frequency (44K) was selected. I am now completely lost and have no way of proceeding because I just can't find a place on the internet that supplies a driver for the device for the Mac OS X.

I recently bought a CAD U37 microphone and when I plugged it into my computer, it acted as if it installed the drivers and everything was fine, but I couldn't get it to show up in any program. I went into the device manager and it says that the drivers aren't installed. I tried updating them and I had no luck. I tried looking online and I had no luck.
I contacted the company that made the microphone and they said that the drivers are native to windows so that was a dead end. I'm running Windows 8.
